About Oolayum
Good food shouldn’t be hard to afford—or hard to find.
We’re building a community-powered map of affordable meals, one real meal at a time. Find a meal. Verify the price. Put it on the map.
What the labels mean
Yum Verified
People confirmed the price, on the date shown. Two independent locals reported the same price, the restaurant told us, or someone on our side checked it, in person, from a photo, on the restaurant's own website or by phone.
Needs check
Confirmed before, but not recently: over 30 days for everyday prices, 14 for specials. Check before you go.
Spotted by a local
One local reported it, and a second hasn't confirmed it yet. Treat it as a tip.
Spotted by a guest
Someone without an account added it, and nobody has checked it.
From the restaurant
The restaurant's own price, read automatically from its website, and not checked by a person yet. On the map it's a pin with the restaurant's food icon, a small storefront badge on its corner and a grey edge; a price a person checked has a dark edge and no storefront badge. It says so, and it's never Yum Verified on its own: two locals confirming it make it Yum Verified.
Prices are before tax; please confirm with the restaurant before you order.
How prices stay honest
- Two people, two networks. A local's price becomes Yum Verified when a second local, on a different network, reports the same price.
- Nobody checks their own. You can't verify a price you added.
- Old prices step aside. A price nobody has re-checked lately is hidden, not shown as current.
Explorers can report that a price changed or a dish is gone: the old price hides at once, and a new price needs a second local before it's Yum Verified.
Local and family-owned. Never corporate chains.
Every place on the map is local to its city.
